Dropbox Transfer offers files up to 100GB sending and extra security

Dropbox is launching a new feature that will allow you to send more files ( upto 100 gb ) at once quickly and securely, which means users will no longer be constrained by typical email service limitations. Called Dropbox Transfer, the new feature is launching on Wednesday in private beta. Workers can now enjoy more collaboration at greater speed than ever as this is up to four times larger than the 25MB limit currently imposed on many top email services.

To send larger files using Dropbox Transfer, users need to simply drag and drop files to upload from their local computer, or select items already stored in user’s Dropbox account. Once the files are uploaded, users are provided with a unique link that user can share and sent to anyone with high level security- even if they don’t have a Dropbox account.

The original uploaded files will remain untouched, the recipients will get a copy of the original and the user will also receive a download notification when the files are accessed or downloaded. Dropbox Transfer will also lets professional users create a custom download page with options like changing color, allowing branded or personalized hubs, and users can also add a password or set an expiration date for extra security protection, even after sending the file link. Users will also be able to see exactly who has downloaded the file. Some of the main features of Dropbox Transfer include delivery confirmation, easy access to files stored on Dropbox, adding logo or branding to file link, and more.

Currently Dropbox is running Transfer with selected customers in Beta, with a general availability set to be announced very soon. It is not yet clear what type of Dropbox account will be required to use this Transfers feature. However, it is likely that users with a free account will be able to transfer a smaller file limit only.
